Community Service Leave Policy

ISU employees are encouraged to become involved in their communities, lending their voluntary support to

programs that enrich the quality of life and opportunities for all citizens.

A maximum of 15 hours of paid leave per scal year will be made available to current full-time employees on

July 1 of each year.

A maximum of 7.5 hours of paid leave per scal year will be made available to current part-time employees

on July 1 of each year.

Early Childhood Education Center

ISU's Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) is designed as a comprehensive childcare/child

development center to serve children, 6 weeks to 5 years of age, of ISU students, faculty, sta members, and

community families. An additional feature is to provide an exemplary child care program for academic

research and training. This program is designed for children whose parents/guardians have work or school

obligations. Faculty and sta are charged based on their income. They can receive assistance through CCDF

or another outside agency. If there is a waiting list, faculty and sta receive priority on the list. For more

Fee Waiver for ISU College Classes

Fee waivers are oered on a limited basis to faculty and sta, spouses/partners, and dependent children.

Sta may take up to 18 hours of course work at ISU each academic

year at a reduced rate. Spouse/Partners may take up to 15 semester hours and have 80%

of qualied tuition waived. Dependent children of qualied employees of ISU who are full-

time Undergraduate students will receive a waiver of 80 percent of qualied tuition per

semester for a maximum ten (10) semesters. Qualied employees must have been employed

at Indiana State University in that capacity for at least one year for dependent children to

ISU Dining

“Blue Bucks”, a declining balance account tied to the sta ID card, gives patrons the ability to make

purchases at participating o campus merchants in addition to the on campus capabilities of the ID card.

Blue Bucks roll over from semester- to- semester and year- to –year.

In addition to making purchases at on-campus locales such as the Commons, Library, Bayh

College of Education and the Student Recreation Center, ISU ID card holders will be able to

use Blue Bucks to make purchases at o campus businesses such as Coee Grounds, the

Saratoga, Roly Poly, Papa Johns, Exotic Thai Cuisine, Hardees, Pizza City and 7th and Elm.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Indiana State University (OLLI at Indiana State) is a non-prot

membership organization open to all adults, regardless of academic background. At the Institute's core are

programs developed by its members and tailored to suit the interests of adults age 50 and older. These

programs are oered without concern for grades, credits, or prerequisites. Indeed, the only requirement for

Recycling Center

The Recycling Center is located at 447 North Ninth Street on campus. Now oering a

drive-through that is open six days a week, and also oering tours to educate our

community on the importance of recycling.

1:00 p.m.

Student Recreation Center (SRC) Facilities & Services

Full-time benets-eligible employees and adjunct faculty may have use of the university recreational facilities

FREE of charge. Included are the facilities and group exercise programs within the Student Recreation Center

(SRC) and the racquetball courts and gymnasium in the Health & Human Services Building (limited daily

schedule). An employee’s spouse/domestic partner can also enjoy the SRC for a fee of $195/6 months or $348/

year. A daily pass is also available at $7/day. There are limited Family Hours for minors that are typically

scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays during the academic year and the entire summer and many holiday

periods. Day passes for minors are $4/U14 and $7/+14. All facilities, equipment and Group X classes are free

to members. Other fee based services available include Personal Training and Massage Therapy in many

modalities: Swedish, relaxation, Reiki, therapeutic, deep tissue, sports and chair massage. Additional services

include locker rental with towel service on a semester basis. Patrons may also use the Day Lockers free of

charge but must bring their own locks and remove daily. All *patrons must present your ISU ID card to use

Summer Flexible Work Hours

Each vice presidential area will make a determination as to departments that may participate in the program

based upon workload and schedules. This will allow employees the opportunity of a four day schedule by

working longer days four days each week. Oce hours will be determined by departments. The options for

oce hours can vary. * It is important to note that department and individual position requirements may not be

eligible to participate in this option due to department size and/or specic high-volume needs associated within their

areas. Please check with your supervisor for eligibility details. More information about the summer exible work

University Closure During Winter Recess

The University calendar includes a Winter Recess period during which time most University oces will be

closed. Each vice president will determine which operations and oces must remain open. The winter recess

period begins the weekday before the Federal recognized Christmas holiday and includes the four traditional

workdays (Winter recess) that occur aer. For continuous shi operations (Public Safety and Power Plant),

scheduled shis that occur on non-traditional week days (weekends) may be included as winter recess days

in equalizing time o. In addition, the University recognizes the New Years Day holiday aer winter recess.
